Why we value our relationship with Dave Ramsey
When I first started listening to talk radio, one of the first programs that I found I enjoyed listening to was The Dave Ramsey Show. I was drawn to it because it wasn’t a show about politics, but about money and how to properly handle it. And it wasn’t talking about super complex ideas or strategies, but more just common sense type advice. Dave’s principles about living within your means and having a plan for your money really resonated within me and went along with the principles I grew up being taught that if you couldn’t pay for it, then you shouldn’t buy it.
And as I continued to listen, I really began to enjoy listening to the callers share their stories about their struggles and successes. Some of the calls sounded very similar to ones that I was facing, and to hear Dave’s take and advice about it helped me make a better decision for my family and myself.
As I continued to listen to the show, I would hear Dave talk about his Endorsed Local Providers–or ELPs. When my need for help on Investing and Health Insurance arose, Dave’s ELP site was the first place that I turned to find someone who could help me (and I still use them today).
One afternoon in 2009 when I was listening to the show, Dave mentioned they were expanding their ELP network to include Home & Auto Insurance and were looking for well-qualified agents that had a heart of a teacher to apply to their site. Since this was how I have always done business, the decision to apply was a no brainer.
A year after I had applied, I received a call one afternoon from one of Dave’s team members asking if I was still interested in becoming an ELP. They explained the process would involve a number of interviews so they could get to know me and that I was competing against a number of other agents. The process was lengthy, but well worth it as they offered me the endorsement in 2010 for the East Orlando area.
The relationship was an immediate success for everyone, and because of the continued success Dave’s ELP Team helped me expand into the North Orlando, South Orlando, and Titusville areas.

While ELPs do pay a fee to cover website maintenance and employment costs, Dave’s endorsement is not bought—it’s earned. We have a 45-person team that interviews potential ELPs several times and provides support to make sure your ELP provides the advice Dave would give. We also make sure that every ELP is someone you feel comfortable talking to and is a person you can trust.
On top of that, we evaluate the performance of all ELPs every month to make sure we recommend you to the best agent possible. Also, every person who uses an ELP has a chance to grade them based on their personal experience through surveys we provide.
